Patrick Bloom
Iowa City singer/songwriter Patrick Bloom joined us this week to talk about what's brought him to Iowa and kept him here, and to share some songs with us: "Prophetstown" from his recently released Ghosts of Radio (2009, Mud Dauber Records), "Heaven on the Radio" from earlier release Moses (2008, Mud Dauber Records) and, in keeping with our Artists in Action proclivity for brand new work, his newest and never played before song called "Goodnight Ladies".
In the second part of the program Idris Goodwin is back as our Hip Hop Educator with another installment of Hip Hop Doesn’t Suck to help us celebrate (or endure) this Valentines Day.

Patrick Bloom’s Ghosts of Radio, hit #6 on the Euro Americana Chart, #7 on the Freeform American Roots Chart, and has just entered the Roots Music Report at #23, not to mention a dozen or so 'Best Of 2009' lists.
